I’m please to announce that my first ebook, Water of Life, is now available on Amazon for Kindle. Purchase link is off of my Amazon Author Central page. https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B07MMGMZWT

1923. The Illinois backwoods. Sean Joye, a young, disillusioned veteran of the Irish Civil War, aims to escape faerie attention, atone for his assassin past, and make a clean new life in America. But his bootlegger friend, Caleb, is in danger. At least that’s the way Caleb’s girlfriend tells the story. As Sean treks through a November ice storm on a rescue mission, he discovers greater threats than revenuers. The forest itself bristles with fae ill intent, and a strange old mountain woman would just as soon shoot him as feed him squirrel stew. People will die—or not die—unless Sean solves the secret of Otter Springs and its water of life.

Praise for Water of Life—”Delightfully peculiar.” ~ M. R. Sellars, Author of The Rowan Gant Investigations https://www.mrsellars.com

This story is a novelette, what we called “long short story” back in the olden days. At 9,000 words, it would take most readers just under an hour to complete. I’m particularly pleased with the cover, so I’ll just put that up here again.

Ebook cover. Faux whiskey label with image of otter and water drops. "Water of Life, A Novelette by Kathy L. Brown" "Pure Corn Mash Distilled Whiskey" "One Pint" "1923" "Otter Springs, Illinois"
